I've been wanting to verb a membership but literally the only thing holding me back is the inconsistent notifications. I almost never receive a notification sound and banner notification when someone messages me. Maybe one day out of a month it works as intended. I've never encountered this issue on growlr, scruff, or grommr, etc. Additionally sometimes when refreshing within the app there will be an icon next to the inbox indicating there's an unread message when in fact no one has messaged.

In a interview with Ron Suresha, Reed Wilgoren recounts how his friend Charlie Brown had placed an ad in the Berkeley Barb (a beacon for gay voices in the s) in called “Chubbies and Chasers, Unite!” The very positive response was overwhelming. This incentivized Charlie to found the first Girth and Mirth Club in San Francisco in This became a sex-positive, body-affirming, mutually supportive organized social group. The next year a Girth and Mirth chapter was stared in Boston, and then another chapter in Fresh York City in

The most common definition of a „bear” is a male who is hairy, has facial hair, and a cuddly body. However, the word „Bear” means many things to different people, even within the bear movement. Many men who do not have one or all of these characteristics define themselves as bears, making the term a very loose one. Suffice it to say, „bear” is often defined as more of an attitude than anything else - a sense of comfort with our organic masculinity and bodies that is not slavish to the vogues of male attractiveness that is so common in gay circles and the culture at large.

Chaser

A chaser is generally an average-weight male who is attracted to stocky, chubby, fat or obese males. However, some of the latter also reflect on themselves as a chaser since it is quite shared for either a stocky, chubby, overweight or obese male to be attracted to the same.

Otter

A man who is hairy, but is not large or stocky - typically thinner, or with lean muscle. Also typically identified by an energetically playful and flirtatious manner. Slimmer version of a Bear with little pockets of fat like noun
