What is a gay chaser
Trans Chaser
Barry: Hey, you're not one of those silly men that's dressed like a chick, are you?
Prostitute: No, baby, I'm the real thing.
The Trans Chaser is a cisgender character who has a strong sexual interest in transgender or gender-nonconforming people; however, their attraction has no lovey-dovey element, and is often little more than a sexual fetish. The most common portrayal is of an (ostensibly) straight cisgender male who surreptitiously hooks up with transgender women or cross-dressers. If Played for Laughs, it usually involves a subversion of an Unsettling Gender-Reveal, where he reacts a adj too positively upon learning that the woman he's with is transgender. More serious works may insinuate that the Trans Chaser is a Closet Gay, and that having sex with someone who resembles a cisgender woman is the best way he can rationalize his attraction without having to interrogate his heterosexuality.
The context of this trope has usually changed over the decades. Until the s or so, this depiction was often no more nuanced tha
I’m someone who has primarily tipped the scales on the larger side throughout most of my life. There were those years where I was in great shape because of being on many kinds of sports teams, but that was an eternity ago, a.k.a. high school. Now I’m in my early 30’s where I can’t recall a time when anything under flashed in front of me when weighing in at the doctor’s office.
Being a size 38/40/42 pants kind of guy has had its ups and downs during my journey of self-discovery and my time in the gay community. It was something that would produce me immensely insecure when I was starting out as a fresh year-old cub in Fresh York City, surrounded by so many men who were in better shape than me.
Now more than a decade has gone by and I’m easy in the skin I’m in. I’m also someone who enjoys dating a myriad of men who come from all backgrounds and shapes. One shape that always seems to hit me up on a variety of apps that I log in and out of are the men that are commonly referred to as chasers.
A chaser, from my show of view, is a skinnier dude who is mostly attracted to guys

Chaser
Chaser
(noun | chasers, plural)
A person who dates/hooks up with a certain “type” of person, such as trans people. Chasers dont recognize the humanity of the people they are attracted to beyond being their “type”. They fetishize their attractions to their type of people. Chasers are often embarrassed of their attractions. They possess a hard day looking past the shame that society attaches to being attracted to anyone other than light cisgender gender conforming people. Very rare actual allies will self-identify as “chasers” and doing so is generally seen by the trans community as a red flag.
e.g. Tina sets up a pre-arranged check-in with a friend whenever she goes on dates. She’s had some scary run-ins with chasers.
