Newcastle has a thriving Gay scene with several bars and nighttime clubs within a short distance of each other. The Gay Village or Pink Triangle as it is sometimes known is situated between the Central Station and the Metro Radio Arena.
The area is well served by public transport with the Metro Station and Central Station close by.
The Centre for Life, Times Square and The Metro Radio Arena are all famous attractions that attract visitors, therefore the area can fetch fairly busy during the day.
The area comes alive at night when most of the bars and clubs are very hectic with a mixed crowd of gays and straights.
There are several bars and night clubs to choose from, with the Powerhouse one of the only exclusive gay night clubs in the North East.
During the Summer there is a huge beer garden - Central Park, October there is a German Oktoberfest and the festive period a Christmas market, Bier garden on Times Square, with a number of bars serving up the usual Christmas Fayre.

Manchester's famous gay village still provides LGBT communities with a place to call their retain whilst developing into a major tourist destination.
As with all good things, once a few people know about it, everyone wants a piece.
So it is with 'the village', or the GAY village as it should be known, a place of vital significance for many thousands of LGBT men and women throughout the years.
Whilst it now performs brilliantly as a destination for tourists, for locals after a pleasant place ot include a drink and something to devour, and for hoardes of hen parties too, it is still at its heart a part of the municipality which was made by and for a community.
