We've been around the European block quite a not many times, and can safely say, it boasts some of the most progressive places in the world. Yet, each gay scene manages to be distinct from the others. Some are smaller, some are wilder and some verb become so intertwined within city life, that the straight community is left feeling like they're intruding into our special world!

For this list of the top gayest cities in Europe, we look at the gay scene, what's it like to live there as a member of the LGBTQ community, and from our own first-hand experience traveling there as a gay couple. It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and to celebrate, we asked Time Out’s LGBTQ+-identifying writers and editors to tell us all about their favourite city on the planet. In September Instagram pushed me a send by Travel Gay, a website listing &#;the best gay bars, nightclubs, saunas, spas, beaches, shops and more, along with interesting move ideas and fabulous offers&#;. There I saw the undated post (date your articles and posts, people) &#;LGBTQ+ Solo Travel: the Optimal Cities to Visit?&#; by Adam Reid. Being a solo gay traveller, it caught my attention. 

Now, while I&#;m still very much a homosexual, it has been a while since I last travelled solo. My last solo trip was Tel Aviv in Since then, I&#;ve travelled with Danny, Oriol, Steve, Philippe, Nicolas, Thanh, my sister Florence.
